Students design wearables for 2024 VTID Program Competition
February 1, 2024
This past Friday January 26, the Industrial Design program hosted a runway show as the conclusion to their 6th annual design competition. Students were divided into groups of second, third, and fourth years and given ten days to develop a wearable object that augments or enhances our experience of the world. With the support of Josh Francis, RJ Weaver, and Monica Broder, students created a wide variety of wearable items, from clothing to jewelry, bags to health devices.
After the runway show, the top 10 teams were selected to present their product further by the jurors, Matt Powers, Helene Renard, and Jessica Hernandez. The top three winners and two honorable mentions were announced Friday afternoon, and the People’s Choice award was awarded on Monday.
