HaEun Chae is an instructor in Fashion Merchandising and Design. She earned her master’s degree in Clothing and Textiles from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Apparel, Merchandising, and Design at Iowa State University. Her dissertation research advances healthcare sustainability by developing user-centered, reusable isolation gowns.
In the classroom, she cultivates a learning environment that bridges theory with practice. Her teaching emphasizes experiential learning through problem solving, studio work, and computer-aided design, encouraging students to think critically and creatively. By integrating sustainability and inclusivity into her pedagogy, she aims to prepare future fashion professionals who not only excel in their field but also contribute meaningfully to building a more responsible industry.
