Minor in Consumer Studies

Students explore the role of consumers in the marketplace and how consumer decisions affect individuals, families, and communities.

The minor examines consumer rights, responsibilities, protection, and marketplace policies.

Students learn about household financial management, budgeting, financial counseling, and personal and family resources.

Elective courses allow students to focus on consumer policy, household financial issues, financial counseling, or consumer education.

Advisors help students select courses that may prepare them for the Accredited Financial Counselor examination and careers in financial counseling, consumer advocacy, and resource management.
