Brad Whitney
- Interior Design Program Chair
Brad Whitney is the Program Chair and Associate Professor of Interior Design at Virginia Tech. He holds B.S. and MFA degrees in interior design from Florida State University and has practice experience working at Gensler in Washington DC and Perper Design Associates in Greensboro, NC. He has taught in the interior design program at VT for over 24 years where his primary teaching areas are second year design studios, material and methods for interior design, introduction to interior design, and design representation methods for upper level design students. Brad’s primary scholarly focus is on making and through drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography he presents phenomenological narratives on the nature of the places we live in. He has exhibited in both regional and national shows and competitions with many of his projects receiving recognitions and awards across his many years teaching at Virginia Tech.
